Alex Roland
R&D Research Director, IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science, IQVIA
Alex Roland serves as the Director of R&D research for the IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science, leading the
development of R&D focused reports and projects. Alex focuses on R&D trends, innovation and productivity. He has extensive experience with industry benchmarking, R&D strategy and pipeline analytics. Alex joined IQVIA in a senior R&D consulting role in 2021 before moving to the IQVIA Institute in 2024. Prior to this, Alex led R&D performance and R&D external insights functions at GSK and AstraZeneca, respectively. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick, UK, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The University of Reading, UK.
